Sweet Potatoes Incoming (September 2020)
Our first Summer running through the COVID-19 Pandemic and what a different summer it has been for us all at Las Lomas this year…..
Who would of thought that 7 months on Coronavirus is still lurking around, making an enormous impact on businesses all over!! We, at Las Lomas, adapted early on this year to make safety protocol changes in our production factories and for our field and factory workers. For the UK commercial office, Summer has been spent working from home (albeit most days in our Pyjama bottoms!!) and for us it has worked very efficiently using ‘Microsoft Teams’. We have been able to plan and program our upcoming 20/21 season with our loyal customers via video conference calls and phone, rather than the usual face-to-face meetings! Where would we be without technology!?Now that September is here, we are gearing up ready to start supply of our 4th season of Spanish Sweet Potatoes. Over the last week our field operatives have been hard at work harvesting our first batch, ready to cure in our on-site curing facility for supply early October.
We are ready to kick start the 2020/2021 season, it may be a challenging one but we are excited to see what the year holds!!
